CWEA Volunteers Lead Development of Award Winning Brand
Announcements

ASAE announced today the winners of the 2021 Gold Circle Awards, which denote excellence, innovation and achievement in association/nonprofit marketing, membership and communications programs.

CWEA has won first place in the “Rebranding” category. This is our first ever ASAE first place award.

“CWEA’s rebranding was a huge effort that affected all aspects of our association,” said Kevin Calderwood, CWEA Past President and Co-Chair of the Branding Task Force.  “Thanks to all the volunteers and staff who worked so hard to bring it together, and congratulations on recognition of a job well done!”

In the spring of 2020, we launched CWEA’s new logo, branding and the tag line “Protecting California’s Most Critical Resource”.  A task force of 14 volunteer leaders and staff spent six months developing the new materials.

The Gold Circle Awards competition is the premier association marketing, membership and communications award that recognizes excellence, innovation, and achievement in association/nonprofit marketing, membership and communications programs.

The 2021 Gold Circle competition drew a record-breaking 300 submissions across 15 categories. Over 100 judges from a variety of associations, nonprofits and for-profit organizations evaluated this year’s entries. The Gold Circle Awards are sponsored by HighRoad Solutions, an association-specific digital marketing agency that helps associations leverage email marketing and marketing automation to grow revenue.

“We are thrilled to have received so many submissions. We had no idea what to expect for this GCA cycle, but association professionals turned challenges into opportunities and the work did not stop in 2020,” said Jill Treby, senior director of membership and marketing at the Association for Psychological Science and chair of ASAE’s Gold Circle Awards Committee.
