The Lancaster Water Reclamation Plant (LWRP) serves a population of approximately 160,000 people. LNWRP treats up to 18 million gallons of wastewater per day. The reclaimed water is used for landscape and agricultural irrigation. In addition, reclaimed water is used to maintain water levels in Apollo Lakes Regional Park and Piute Ponds.

LWRP is committed to ensuring the safety of its operations and employees. LWRP stands out with its “Above and Beyond Employee Recognition Program,” acknowledging employees contributing to safety improvements. LWRP promotes safety awareness through an intranet page offering CWEA resources. This initiative supports ongoing education and incentivizes employees to engage in safety programs.

Purpose

The Plant Safety award is awarded in three categories: small, medium and large. Criteria include number of injuries, lost-time accidents, record keeping, in-house training, emergency response and program implementation.
