FROM EPA: Preparedness and Response – Tools for Water Utilities

Wildfires have caused major damage to homes and infrastructure in communities across California. EPA has developed several tools to help utilities respond to and recover from a variety of hazards, including wildfires. For area-specific information, pay attention to current watches and warnings issued by your local National Weather Service forecast office and available on the Response On-The-Go mobile application.

This “rip and run” checklist outlines key actions that can be taken immediately before, during and after wildfires to mitigate impacts.

Response-On-The-Go Mobile App

The EPA has a new mobile app for iPhone and Android for helping response personnel and water utility operators access key response information – including severe weather watches and warnings, emergency contacts, emergency checklists, damage assessment forms, and ICS resources – on your mobile device during an emergency.
