What is your role?

As Operations Supervisor, I ensure we maintain safety and compliance through day to day operations and maintenance activities. I am also responsible for the annual facility operations budget. I coordinate with multiple groups on plant shutdowns to accommodate construction and maintenance activities and provide support, guidance, and training to Operators while fostering a positive work environment.

What / who inspired you to work in water?

I did some research and learned there were rarely any layoffs in this industry.

What fuels your passion for your work?

It’s never boring. I continue to learn something new every year because we have to keep up with changes in our workforce, the environment, and technology.

What is the biggest mis-perception about working in water?

Wastewater and water treatment is an industry that requires a vast array of skills including science, biology, math, engineering, computers, writing and communication skills.

Why should veterans join this field?

Veterans should join this field if they want to continue to serve the public in a professional work environment.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your work?

The people I work with, solving problems, and helping our team be successful.
