The Water Environment Association of Texas – North Texas Section will match donations up to $5,000 for Hurricane Harvey Relief to help assist water and wastewater utilities during this time as they wait for the water to recede. The utilities will be faced with many challenges ahead as they will be bringing their water and wastewater treatment facilities back up and running to normal operation as well as making numerous repairs in the water distribution and collection system. The money raised through this will go to help assist the following: The Texas Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network (TXWARN) helps support and promote statewide emergency preparedness, disaster response, and mutual assistance matters for public and private water and wastewater utilities. They work closely with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the State Emergency Operations Center to coordinate response to utilities when outages overwhelm the ability to recover in a reasonable length of time.
