Raul Villalpando

Born and raised in Escondido for over 62 years. Raul is happily married with 2 step sons and a daughter. Raul started his career with the City over 22 years ago in the Public Works Department. It was a matter of fate and a true calling for Raul. Upon initially being hired by the City Raul failed his physical examination with the Doctors discovery of a hernia. The City pulled its job offer and Raul was disappointed. He returned to construction and had an operation to fix his hernia. Nine months later the City called Raul to ask him if he was still interested in the position, the previous candidate did not pass probation. This time Raul passed all pre employment exams with flying colors and has never looked back. The City is honored to have him and nominate him for Operator of the Year!
