Kody Tompkins

Kody Tompkins is the Chief Plant Operator (CPO) at the Barstow Wastewater Treatment Plant (BWWTP) and oversees all wastewater operations for the City. He is an active member of the California Water Environmental Agency, American Water Works Association, and the Water Environmental Federation. Kody completed two tours to Iraq, for over a year each. Kody eventually discharged honorably in 2009 as a Sergeant. Kody began working at the BWWTP in 2002 as a laborer; prior to becoming the CPO, he has learned and worked in every position at the plant. Mr. Tompkins holds a Grade V Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate, Water Treatment Operator Grade T2, and a Water Distribution Operator Grade D2 from the State Water Resources Control Board, and also holds a Grade IV Collections System Maintenance Certificate from the California Water Environmental Agency. Kody completed the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Specialist Certificate from California State University, Sacramento.

Purpose

This committee-specific society recognizes and honors individually, both the inductees and their employers for their combined contributions which promote increased professionalism in the collection systems field. The society was formed in April 1994 with the formal inductions of all past CWEA Collection Systems Committee Chairpersons, all past recipients of the Richard D. Pomeroy Award, and other significant contributors.

Up to five (5) inductees may be inducted each year into this Society. Induction will be decided by a minimum of three (3) members of the Society.
