BREAKOUT SESSION FORMAT

We prefer 50-minute sessions that includes time for questions and discussion. A 50-minute session will qualify for one (1) CWEA contact hour in a specific practice area, depending on the topic.

If your session does not meet the time criteria, consider including an additional speaker(s) from another organization or company as part of the presentation. If applicable, the presentation should include case studies, real-life examples, best practices, and innovative technology and design strategies.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The Education Committee will consider the educational value of each proposal, the expertise of the speakers, the speaker’s ability to engage an audience, and the speaker’s past conference evaluation results (if any).

Preference will be given to presentation proposals that are alignment with the hot topic areas.

Additional criteria used to evaluate proposals include:
Does the topic offer new information that has not been presented at a previous Annual Conference?
Does the presentation proposal include clear takeaways for attendees?
Will the topic greatly appeal to multiple audiences or to an individual practice area?

SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL

Proposals submitted by the due date will become the property of the CWEA and the Education Committee and will not be returned.  Proprietary or confidential information included in proposals must be conspicuously stated.

SPEAKER POLICY

CWEA is a not-for-profit association. To keep registration costs affordable, CWEA is unable to reimburse speaker travel expenses or pay honorariums. Speakers can register/pay to attend for one day or the full conference.

The success of our conference depends on the efforts of CWEA volunteers, and your interest and commitment as a speaker is greatly appreciated. If the proposal is selected by the conference committee, speakers will be required to sign a CWEA speaker agreement.
