LEE + RO, Inc., today announced that Vice President Eric Lovering, P.E., has been named the company’s chief engineer. In this new role, Lovering will apply his 20 years of engineering experience, strong leadership qualities and problem-solving skills to helping solidify the company’s position as a leader in the design, engineering, and implementation of water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure projects throughout California.

Said Dhiru Patel, CEO of LEE + RO, “Eric’s unique technical knowledge of complex water and wastewater plant systems, combined with his electrical and I&C expertise that he’s developed at LEE + RO over the past 18 years, puts him at the forefront of the industry as an innovator and thought leader.”

“Our founder, Steve Ro, set me on a path more than a decade ago,” said Lovering. “He said that the key to differentiating LEE + RO was to build the best in-house electrical and I&C team. I now want to take that vision a step further by developing an iterative process.  That includes the cross training of all our civil, structural, and mechanical engineers to design smarter innovative solutions to help solve the infrastructure challenges in California.”

As the team leader, the chief engineer plays an integral role in the overall success of all projects. Lovering is not only responsible for the technical supervision of the design and implementation of projects but also works with other managerial staff to ensure that all projects are completed in an efficient manner. Lovering will continue in his role as the regional director of the San Diego office.

Lovering received his B.S. degree in aeronautical engineering from UC Davis. His technical expertise is in pump station hydraulics; mechanical piping and HVAC design; and electrical and controls engineering. He holds California-registered licenses as a professional civil engineer and an electrical engineer.
