Kent was hired by the City of San Diego in August of 1996. Kent joined CWEA and WEF in 1999 and worked through the San Diego Section to become President in 2006. He also obtained his certification for Collection System Maintenance, where he obtained his Grade IV in 2004. Kent is the Assistant Deputy Director for the City of San Diego’s Public Utility Department’s Wastewater Collection Division. Kent coordinates the Division’s activities, including developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive and responsive, predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance program. Kent has worked over 40 years in Maintenance, Operations and Asset Management, including the US Air Force, General Dynamics/Convair Division, the City of San Diego, and CCWRD. Kent’s memberships include Associate Member of the Institute of Asset Management, Water Environment Federation, Nevada Water Environment Association, California Water Environment Association, the Association of Asset Management Professionals, and the Facility Management Maximo Users Group.

Purpose

This committee-specific society recognizes and honors individually, both the inductees and their employers for their combined contributions which promote increased professionalism in the collection systems field. The society was formed in April 1994 with the formal inductions of all past CWEA Collection Systems Committee Chairpersons, all past recipients of the Richard D. Pomeroy Award, and other significant contributors.

Up to five (5) inductees may be inducted each year into this Society. Induction will be decided by a minimum of three (3) members of the Society.
