Central San created our Virtual Treatment Plant Tour & Outreach Program to educate and engage the community about the essential service we provide. Our tour (centralsan.org/virtual-plant-tour) features interactive 360-degree photos of our treatment plant facilities, as well as audio recordings about each stage of the treatment process. The online tour provides customers with an immersive, behind-the-scenes view of our plant from the comfort and safety of their home computer or mobile device.

Keeping connected with our customers during the pandemic has been critical. During this challenging time, many people have been using disposable wipes to disinfect surfaces. They’ve also had to resort to toilet paper alternatives due to store shortages. As a result, wastewater agencies across the country have seen an increase in wipes-related clogs and overflows. Through our virtual tours and outreach events, we’re able to educate our customers, which in turn helps them make informed decisions about wipes.
