I am the Inland Empire Utilities Agency’s leader on our asset management journey. This is a highly collaborative, cross-agency effort as we seek to continually maximize our level of service while minimizing our capital, O&M, and risk costs.

What / who inspired you to work in water?

While serving our country, there was no question whether our actions had positive effect on our nation. I desired to continue to serve in another impactful field after my naval career. Working in water/wastewater provided me that opportunity as water is arguably our #1 resource in Southern California.

What fuels your passion for your work?

Doing something that makes a difference.

What is the biggest mis-perception about working in water?

This industry has been around for quite some time; however, there is plenty of room for growth and innovation.

Why should veterans join this field?

Water/wastewater has a vast array of opportunities (e.g. project management, engineering, operations, maintenance, IT, and many others). It is also a great fit for those looking to utilize the teamwork and leadership skills they developed in the military.
