State Water Board Seeks Volunteers for Wastewater Operators Advisory Committee

Details from the State Water Board…

The Wastewater Operator Certification Program (WWOCP) Advisory Committee has openings for the following positions:

  1. Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Representative – Persons from statewide organizations representing municipalities, including counties or private utility wastewater treatment plants (two vacant positions);
  2. Local Sanitation Agency Representative – An individual from a statewide organization representing local sanitation agencies, other than statewide organizations representing municipalities, counties, or private utility wastewater treatment plants (one vacant position);
  3. Organized Labor Union Representative – A member of an organized labor union that represents wastewater treatment plant operators (one vacant position).

The term of each position is four years. The WWOCP Advisory Committee generally meets twice a year (Spring/Fall).  The WWOCP Advisory Committee shall review all proposed regulations and make recommendations to the State Water Board before the adoption of a regulation or an amendment to a regulation.

If you are interested in becoming a committee member or nominating a qualified individual, please submit the following items by 4:00 P.M., Friday, September 31, 2022:

  • Position the nomination is for
  • Name of Employer
  • Resume
  • Statement of Qualifications (SOQ’s)
  • Any letters of recommendation/support
