SacSewer Warriors Prepare for Operations Challenge at WEFTEC

Announcements

The SacSewer Warriors are gearing up to put their skills, teamwork, and technical knowledge to the test at the Water Environment Federation’s Operations Challenge at WEFTEC in New Orleans.

CWEA board members and staff recently visited SacSewer for a behind-the-scenes look at how the team is preparing for the competition. During the visit, the Warriors demonstrated some of the events they’ve been training for and shared what goes into preparing to compete alongside wastewater professionals from around the world.

Made up of employees from SacSewer’s Collection and Treatment Operations, the SacSewer Warriors bring together the skills that wastewater professionals rely on every day—from technical expertise and safe work practices to communication, teamwork, and problem-solving under pressure.

For the Warriors, Operations Challenge is about more than competition. Training gives team members an opportunity to sharpen their technical skills, strengthen teamwork, and exchange best practices they can bring back to their work at SacSewer.

The visit also included a tour of SacSewer’s EchoWater Facility, giving CWEA board members and staff an up-close look at the people, technology, and operations behind one of California’s major wastewater treatment facilities.

Next stop: New Orleans! CWEA is proud to cheer on the SacSewer Warriors as they represent California’s wastewater community at WEFTEC.

Good luck, Warriors!
