“The City’s GIS Section helped us by putting together a map identifying all food service establishments, sewage spill sites, high grease concentration areas, and the cleaning frequency per year of these high grease concentration areas. We have identified 160 food service establishments that do not have any type of grease interceptor connected to their sewer system.”
This year, the City video recorded the food service establishment’s sewer line connection to the City system to determine if they are allowing fats, oils, or grease to flow into the City’s sewer system. The City’s Wastewater Section documented all locations, totaling 78,737 linear feet of sewer line.
The City recently started using closed-circuit TV to monitor grease buildup at its 195 chronic trouble spots. Additionally, the City evaluated 40 food service establishments, covering 1,800 linear feet, to ensure compliance with the City’s FOG program.
