CWEA recently wrapped up a successful Mechanical Technologist Job Task Analysis (JTA) Workshop, bringing together a dedicated group of subject matter experts (SMEs). For many participants, it was their first time volunteering with CWEA—an exciting milestone for both them and the program. Mechanical Technologist exams launch July 1, 2026.
The last JTA was conducted virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic. This time, holding the workshop in person created opportunities for richer discussions, diverse perspectives, and meaningful collaboration. The insights gathered will directly inform and strengthen the future of this certification.
Special thanks go to Paige Fischer and Michael Maurice of Dainis & Company, Inc. for their skilled facilitation and guidance throughout the process. Thank you to CWEA team members — Lydia Guerra, ICE CCP; Norah Duffy, CAE, ICE-CCP; Angelina Chu, and Reyna Heredia — for all of their help in making this workshop a success.
CWEA is grateful for the expertise and commitment of its volunteers. Their contributions ensure the continued excellence of our certification programs, and we look forward to the next steps in the months ahead.
