CWEA 2027 P3S Conference
February 9 – 10, 2027 in Santa Rosa, CA

Theme: Flowing Toward a Resilient Future: Innovation, Collaboration, and Clean Water for All

California’s water professionals protect public health and the environment through innovation, collaboration, and stewardship. P3S27 invites you to share practical solutions, emerging technologies, regulatory insights, and lessons learned that will help shape a more resilient future.

Whether you’re an experienced presenter or speaking for the first time, we encourage proposals that spark discussion, inspire new ideas, and provide attendees with practical knowledge they can immediately apply.

Important Dates

• Proposal Deadline: August 28, 2026
• Acceptance Notifications: By October 1, 2026

Accepted presenters will receive access to the Cadmium Speaker Management Portal to complete the Speaker Agreement and submit required materials.

Please submit your proposal through the Cadmium Speaker Management Portal. You’ll be asked to provide:

• Presenter information
• Session title
• Session abstract
• Three learning objectives
• Intended audience and experience level

Session Formats

Technical Sessions

• 50-minute presentation, including audience interaction (Q&A, polling, discussion, demonstrations, or activities)
• Eligible for one (1) CWEA Contact Hour
• Multiple proposals are welcome; please submit each separately.

P3S serves professionals across pretreatment, pollution prevention, stormwater, laboratories, engineering, operations, management, and regulatory agencies. During submission, you’ll identify the intended audience and experience level (Beginning, Intermediate, or Advanced).

What Makes a Strong Proposal?

• Clearly defined learning objectives
• Practical takeaways attendees can use immediately
• Real-world examples or case studies

Selection Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated on:

• Educational value
• Relevance to the P3S audience
• Practical application
• Speaker expertise
• Audience engagement
• Overall quality

We especially encourage proposals featuring:

• Real-world case studies
• Practical solutions and lessons learned
• Cross-disciplinary collaboration
• Public agency and private sector perspectives
• First-time presenters paired with experienced presenters
• New or substantially updated content

Presentation Guidelines

P3S is an educational conference. Presentations should:

• Deliver objective, educational content rather than product promotion.
• Share practical experience and applicable solutions.
• Engage attendees through discussion, activities, or Q&A.

Commercial sales presentations will not be accepted.

Speaker Benefits

While CWEA is unable to provide honorariums or travel reimbursement, presenters receive:

• Discounted conference registration
• Double Contact Hours for presenting (attendance scanning required)

Presenter Responsibilities

Accepted presenters agree to:

• Complete all required tasks in the Cadmium Speaker Portal
• Sign the CWEA Speaker Agreement
• Submit presentation slides by the published deadline
• Deliver an engaging educational session
• Participate in audience discussion and Q&A
• Help promote their session using CWEA’s promotional toolkit
