Kent Vian
Kent is the Assistant Deputy Director for the City of San Diego’s Public Utility Department’s Wastewater Collection Division. Kent coordinates activities, including developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive and responsive, predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance program for the City’s assets and infrastructure. Kent has over 40 years in Maintenance, Operations and Asset Management, including the US Air Force, General Dynamics/Convair Division, the City of San Diego and CCWRD. Currently Kent ensures alignment with the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Values, and that legal and regulatory obligations are met, ensuring an effective stewardship of assets and infrastructure, and that assets provide the desired level of service in a cost-effective manner and maximize value during their lifecycle. Kent holds certifications as a CSO Grade IV in both California and Nevada and a Certified Maintenance Manager. Memberships include the Institute of Asset Management, WEF, NWEA, CWEA, and the Association of Asset Management Professionals.
