James Mattern
My career in water began in 1992, I was looking for a career to help protect the environment. I was attending Palomar College for wastewater treatment and obtained an industrial wastewater treatment operator position at a printed circuit board company. Through Palomar College I toured Encina and that was all it took. After seven years of industrial wastewater treatment and obtaining my Grade II certification, I applied to Encina and was hired as an OIT.
Throughout the years I’ve continued my education earning 3 degrees, Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment and Business Management. Additionally, certificates as a State of CA Grade V Wastewater Treatment Operator, Nationally Certified Public Manager through The Center for Organization Effectiveness and Certified Occupational Safety Specialist through Pacific Safety Counsel.
My 25 years at Encina has given me experience in all departments of operations and currently I am Encina’s Operations Manager & CPO.
Thank you,
James Mattern
