Fred started his career in Camarillo with the Street department while working in the private sector as a mechanic and fabricator. He worked his way up to Lead Water Reclamation Maintenance Worker and has 17 years in the field. Fred is a key contributor in the maintenance department covering skills such as welding, machining, hydraulics, fabrication, all while mentoring others in the department. He holds certifications as a CWEA grade IV Mechanical Technologist and a grade II Electrical and Instrumentation Technologist. He has attended Ventura College for welding and water sciences along with many other classes such as Rockwell classes on SCADA programming and VFD maintenance. In his free time, Fred is an amazing father and husband. Fred also competes as a sponsored enduro cross motorcyclist.

Purpose

The Mechanical Technician Person of the Year Award recognizes outstanding performance, dedication to the job, and for sharing knowledge of maintenance procedures.
