Mark Birchfield
I have been with the City of Huntington Beach Wastewater section since May 1989. With over three decades of experience, I have developed a deep understanding of wastewater and storm drain system operations and maintenance. My leadership includes supervisory roles, program development, and coordination with various departments and outside City agencies. I have advanced training in wastewater operations, safety protocols, and emergency response, and have consistently ensured the integrity and efficiency of wastewater systems. I have also focused on staff development and public outreach, fostering community understanding and engagement in wastewater management. This includes orchestrating all wastewater system operations and maintenance, demonstrating exemplary leadership, spearheading program development and implementation, facilitating interdepartmental coordination, and maintaining advanced training and certifications.
