Wastewater Treatment Agencies of Marin County
The Central Marin Sanitation Agency (CMSA) Community Engagement and Outreach Program aims to reduce or eliminate pollutants of concern at the source in lieu of wastewater treatment. CMSA leads the Wastewater Treatment Agencies of Marin County Public Education program which consists of six Marin County Publicly Owned Treatment Works. These six Agencies include the Central Marin Sanitation Agency, the Novato Sanitary District, Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District, the Sewerage Agency of Southern Marin and Sanitary District #5. The impact of each Program has been enhanced by combining resources and sharing a unified message throughout Marin County. The objective of this program is to inform the public on pollutant minimization to the wastewater treatment plants, stormwater system, and the environment. CMSA’s Program leverages this programs resources in the most productive manner possible and cooperate with other local and regional programs and agencies to increase the effectiveness of our outreach activities.
