The facility receives about 5 million gallons of wastewater per day, with spikes over 20 million gallons during the rainy season. The facility treats wastewater to a secondary level through physical, biological and chemical processes. Treated effluent is safely disposed of through a collectively owned discharge pipe into the San Francisco Bay.
