Programs & Advocacy

Award Nominations Open
Our local sections are now accepting applications. The CWEA awards program seeks to recognize outstanding achievements within the wastewater field. Nominate a hardworking team member or a recently completed project. You’ll never know if you won unless you apply!
Coronavirus & Worker Safety
The health and safety of wastewater professionals is critical during this pandemic. Workers are frequently exposed to hazardous diseases and pollution in sewage. Safety comes first. According to the Water Environment Federation (WEF), the scientific community has found no evidence of viable COVID-19 virus in wastewater systems. It appears contracting COVID-19 through exposure to wastewater is unlikely.
Please Don't Flush Wipes
Single-use wet wipes have gained popularity in recent years. Many of these products are marketed as flushable and made with spun-plastic fibers and they are not compatible with sewer systems and infrastructure. Wipes clog pipes. Please don’t flush wipes!
