- The SF Bay Section's Professional Development Committee has lined up another slate of technical experts to present "Practical Applications of Pumping Systems". This full-day seminar will be held at Hs Lordships in Berkeley, CA, on June 12, 2008. Come learn about pump selection, testing standards (purpose and how to), pitfalls to avoid, and more. - CWEA is looking for additional volunteers at the upcoming Annual Conference in Sacramento. This is a great way to meet new people and get involved. There are still openings for room monitors, opening session, local host, sludge trudge, and photography. The remaining openings are shown in this Excel spreadsheet. Please email Mai-Tram Le (with SRCSD at lem@sacsewer.com) with the event, date, and time that you want to volunteer or if you have any questions.

- NRTC 2008 Call for Abstracts: The Northern Regional Training Conference will be held on September 7-9, 2008 in Sparks, Nevada. Abstracts for the conference are now being accepted. The final date for abstract submission is April 30th. For more information on how to submit your abstract, please see the 2008 NRTC Call For Abstracts flyer.
- Call for Speakers and/or Topics: The SFBS Professional Development Committee’s next one-day seminar will cover Practical Considerations of Pumping Systems. Input is requested to ensure that the selected presentations address the membership’s needs. Proposed presentations can be 25- or 50-min in length (please specify preference). All participation is voluntary, and selected speakers/topics shall be confirmed no later than 4/30/08. The seminar will take place on 6/12/08 at H.S. Lordships in Berkeley, CA. Send suggestions/comments to Erin Brosnan, Black & Veatch (BrosnanEM@bv.com).
- The ASCE Young Member Forum will be hosting a golf tournament on Friday June 6, 2008. For more information on the event and details on how to sign-up, please see the ASCE YMF Golf Tournament Flyer.
