Welcome to another year with your local Redwood Empire Section (RES) CWEA! I first became a member of RES is 1985, when I was turned on to the CWPCA VCP (now CWEA Technical Certification Program) by my first employer. 30 years later, I am honored to be your local section President for 2015.
I didn’t know it back in 1985, just how important it is to get to know your industry peers. I have successfully worked for both private and public employers since this time – and I have to say that I would not have achieved many of my goals without the friendships and contacts made through CWEA and the RES over the years. Our work is not known my many people, and we can really help each other out by just relating some of our “learning experiences”. CWEA and RES training events and committee meetings help make this possible.
I hope you will join us at facility tours, dinner meetings, committee meetings, and other social events in the upcoming year. We are also looking for new leaders for the Public Outreach and Young Professionals committees – and if you can help out, drop me a note. As with most things, the more you invest, the more you get in return!
We have a good thing going… so let’s keep learning – and have some fun, too!
