In this ever-changing world relevance is everything. Technology changes in the blink of an eye, but if you don’t keep up you can’t take advantage of all that these improvements have to offer. The CWEA and the Redwood Empire Section are doing our best to stay abreast of all this progress and finding new ways to keep members informed and connected. Our Local Section Committees are dedicated to bringing you new educational opportunities and training events. The RES Board and I are committed to providing CWEA members with all the tools necessary to keep up with advancements in wastewater treatment and collections. All of our efforts require one thing … you!
Take advantage of the bi-monthly dinner meetings, not just as a chance to tour a local brewery (although I have to admit, I don’t mind sampling some delicious local brews!), but also as an opportunity to network with fellow wastewater professionals. Take it upon yourself to share what you know with others, and I guarantee that you will learn something new too! Attend a Local Section training event. Sign up for a CWEA Conference. Don’t let opportunities to learn and stay on top of advancements in our wastewater industry pass you by.
Finally, stay connected! The creation of mycwea.org is a great way to see when your membership and certifications expire, check your contact hours, renew, find other members, register for events, and more! You can instantly update your contact information and create a public profile for others to view.
2014 is looking to be a busy year already, with lots planned both at the State and Local level. I hope to see you at some of these events!
