The March Tour / Dinner meeting for the Redwood Empire Section CWEA will be in Graton on Thursday, March 20th.
The event will include a tour of the Graton CSD WWTF and a buffet dinner at Charlie’s Restaurant at the Windsor Golf Club.

The Redwood Empire Section Pretreatment, Pollution Prevention and Stormwater (P3S) Committee invites you to attend the next meeting at the Santa Rosa Laguna Treatment Plant on January 28, 2014. All are welcome to attend! Come meet with other wastewater professionals to discuss current P3S topics and hear a special presentation given by William C. Zavora, P.E.
William C. Zavora, PE. Bill is a Senior Applications Engineer with Calgon Carbon Corporation. Based in Petaluma, he provides technical support to the Calgon organization and its customers throughout the Western USA and Latin America. Bill has more than 25 years of process engineering experience, including spending over half his career focused on successful activated carbon applications. A particular emphasis throughout his career has been wastewater and water treatment. He has authored numerous papers and routinely speaks at conferences and seminars. Bill received a BS in Material Engineering from Virginia Tech and is a registered civil engineer in California and Pennsylvania.

At the awards banquet dinner on November 22, 2013 we will be installing the 2014 Board of Directors. So, we are currently seeking nominations for the First Year Director position. You may nominate a fellow Redwood Section member, or you can even nominate yourself. Please send your nominations to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Per our bylaws, we will open nominations to the floor at the dinner, and then the attending members will vote in a new First Year Director. Please send your nominations to me by November 15th so that we will have time to print up ballots if there is more than one nomination.

The October Tour / Dinner meeting for the Redwood Empire Section CWEA will be in Petaluma on Thursday, October 17th. The event will include a tour of the Lagunitas Brewery and dinner at Cattlemens in Petaluma. Following dinner, there will be a presentation given by Jason Kaduk of the Vallejo Sanitation & Flood Control District. See the attached flyer for more information.

Just wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone about the upcoming NRTC Training on September 10th through 12th in Modesto. The NRTC offers many good training sessions and functions. Early Registration is still available until the end of this week, so sign up early and save some money.

The Redwood and San Francisco Bay Section are hosting a Certification Preparation Training (TCP) on October 4th at the Fairfield Suisun Sewer District offices. A flyer with more detail will be coming out soon. If you’re getting ready for a test, this is a great opportunity to help prepare.

The event will be on Thursday, September 5th and include a tour the San Francisco PUC Oceanside WWTP and dinner at Kome Japanese Seafood & Grill in Daly City. Following dinner, there will be a presentation given by Marsha Sukardi of SFPUC titled “Decentralizing Wastewater Treatment and Reuse”.
