The Redwood Empire Section is recruiting volunteers to assist with the development of a new Students and Young Professionals Committee (SYPC)!

The good news is you don’t have to be a student or a young professional to join. We are looking for CWEA members who are willing to contribute a small amount of time toward planning a few events a year, and developing relationships with the local colleges and students.

Some of the goals of this committee will be:
• Coordinate with the local colleges and students
• Encourage and support OIT programs and internship opportunities
• Create networking and mentorship opportunities for students and young professionals
If you’re looking to get involved in CWEA this is a great way to get your feet wet!

If you missed our first meeting, and you wish to help develop the committee direction and outline some plans for the upcoming year – Feel free to contact Veronica Gummo, Committee Chair, for more details: 707-838-1218 or [email protected]

No more meetings left in 2015 – enjoy the holidays!

The next Section meeting is tentatively scheduled for January 21, 2016 – place TBD.
Look for a meeting notice right after the new year.

At the 2014 awards banquet dinner, set for November 21, 2014 we will be installing the 2015 Board of Directors for the Redwood Empire Section.

We are currently seeking nominations for the First Year Director position.  You may nominate a fellow Redwood Section member, or you can even nominate yourself.  Please send your nominations to Tony Pirondini at [email protected]

Per our bylaws, we will open nominations to the floor at the dinner, and then the attending members will vote in a new First Year Director.  Please send your nominations to me by November 14th so that we will have time to print up ballots if there is more than one nomination.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing all of you at the awards dinner.
