NORTH COAST SECTION GOLF TOURNAMENT 2015
By James Henry & Mike Freeman
Thanks to all who participated in the 14th Annual North Coast Section CWEA Golf Tournament.
The weather was gorgeous this year from the opening tee shot to the final putt. A little wind in the afternoon cooled it off just enough. A great BBQ Hamburger lunch was provided by Beau Pre Golf Course following the tournament and enjoyed by all.
We had 7 teams this year battling for 1st place bragging rights in the Four-Person Scramble held once again at Beau Pre in McKinleyville on June 13th.
The Peoria Handicapping system that has been used in previous years was used again this year. The Peoria system is a one day tournament handicapping system designed to keep the scores tight, no matter the experience level of the golfers. The teams finished in the following order:
First place went to McKinleyville Community Services District's "Turd Herders". The team consisted of Mike Freeman, Jason Patton, Chris Jones & Brian Anspach
Second place went to "Four Play" from Eureka. The team was: Wayne Roslosnik, Andrea Roslosnik, Marla Landing & Charles Roecklein
In Third place, for Lowest Team Score without the handicap, was "Thrifty Supply". Their team was: Dan Cruz, Randy Sundberg, Al Penasa, & Bruce San Filippo
In Fourth Place, the "Most Honest" team was the "Elk River Aces from Eureka's WWTP. The team consisted of: Dan Duncan, Michael Hansen, Jeremy Dempsey and Eric Freyermuth
Prizes were awarded for KP's (closest to the pin) on three holes and a longest drive.
Finally, we would like to thank the Sponsors who made a donation for the tournament
If it werenít for their support, this tournament would not be so successful year after year.
Whenever possible letís send some business their way.
