Many thanks to all who participated in the Tenth Annual North Coast Section CWEA Golf Tournament. The

weather was perfect and the golfers had a great time. There were seven teams battling amongst each other for the

coveted first place bragging rights in the Four-person Scramble at the Eureka Municipal Golf Course on June 25th. The

final calibrated scores had all teams within 6 strokes of each other. This was a tight year in the standings. We had a three

way tie for the Net score (low score with the handicap). The Golf Pro was kept busy re-evaluating how the tying teams

did on certain holes to arrive at a tie breaker winner.

After losing many golf balls and score cards adjusted for the Peoria Handicap, the teams finished in the following order:

First Place went to “LACO Fearsome Foursome”. The team representing LACO & Associates consisted of: Charles Roecklein, Dale Romanini, Chad Christie, & Bob Marino

Second Place went to “Turd Herders”. The team representing the McKinleyville Community Services District consisted of Jason Patton, Chris Jones, James Henry, & Dale

First Place for Lowest Team Score without the Handicap went to “Compost Caddies”. The team representing the City of Fortuna consisted of: Mike Flockart, John Crotty, Kevin Carter, & Jessie Suelzle

The “Most Honest Team” award (last place) went to team “Gophers”. The team consisted of: Dan Smith, Stan Terris, Roy Harding, & Hymie Yellon. This team represented the City of Eureka.

Prizes were also awarded for KP’s (closest to the pin) on three holes and a longest drive prize. Those winners were Todd Wright, Eric Frey, Dale Romanini, and Mike Flockhart.

Finally, I would like to thank the Sponsors who made a donation for the tournament.

If it weren’t for their support this tournament would not have been so successful. If possible let’s send some business their way.

Hope to see you next year. Keep on hacking!
