Many thanks to all whom participated in the seventh Annual North Coast Section Golf Tournament. The weather was perfect (OK, so it was a little foggy) and the golfers had a great time. This was the biggest turn-out yet, with thirteen teams battling amongst each other for the coveted first place bragging rights in the Four-person Scramble at the Eureka Municipal Golf Course on July 12th. The final calibrated scores had all teams within 10 strokes of each other.

After losing many golf balls and score cards adjusted for the Peoria Handicap, the teams finished in the following order:

First Place went to “Sewer Ratts”. The team consisted of: Pat Blair, Lou Cormier, Mickey Hulstrom, & Spencer Clifton. This team

represented: Keenan Pipe & Supply, Humboldt Community Services District, & Humboldt County Association of Governments

CONGRATULATIONS!

Second Place went to the “OLA”. A team with Oscar Larson and Associates members.

First Place for Lowest Team Score without the Handicap went to “Chops”.  The team consisted of Tamas Glavichi, Ken Morgen, Alan

Penasa, & Chris Bell

The “Most Honest Team” award (last place) went to team “McKinleyville Parks & Rec”. A team with McKinleyville Community Services

 District members.

Prizes were also awarded for KP’s (closest to the pin) on three holes and a longest drive prize. Those winners were Spencer Clifton,

Alan Penasa, Jason Patton, and Mark Pinske.

Finally, I would like to thank the Corporate Sponsors who made a donation for the tournament.

If it weren’t for their support this tournament would not have been so successful. If possible let’s send some business their way.

Also, if you missed the family barbeque that followed at Freshwater Park, you missed a fantastic meal.

Hope to see you next year. Keep on hacking!
