| There are over 20 categories for CWEA
awards, which honor CWEA members and wastewater professionals
in California. The program serves to recognize outstanding
professional achievements within the wastewater field,
improve the professional status of all personnel working
in the wastewater industry and related fields, and stimulate
public awareness of the importance of wastewater treatment
to public health and the water environment.
Awards are given at the local section level, and then
advance to state competition. Winners at the state level
are submitted to the Water Environment Federation for
competition at the national level. Forms delivered to
all committee chairs and local section awards chairs,
and are available starting August 1st by contacting
CWEA staff at (510) 382-7800, x120.
In order to ensure that your section has a
smoothly-run banquet, be sure to:
- Plan early and contact staff with the date,
location, and other meeting information of your
banquet.
- Receive from staff the deadline to get plaques
made in time for your banquet.
- Request a proof of insurance and/or notify staff
if you will be playing music (for copyright
purposes).
- Receive confirmation of which Board Officer is
attending.
- Notify staff of any change of officers (for
joint awards and installation banquets).
Keep in mind that the timeline for CWEA State Awards is as follows:
