Annual Planning Meeting

Friday, December 14th, 2018, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Fresno/Clovis Regional Water Treatment Facility, we will be having our annual planning meeting. All members are invited to attend! 

 

The event will be held at the Fresno RWRF Administration Building - Yosemite Conference Room

  • If you'd like to volunteer, but you're not sure how to get started!
  • If you have some ideas about training you would like to see here in your local section!
  • If you have some suggestions for dinner meeting topics!
  • If you are just curious about what we do on the board!

Brogan has a Bachelors of Science Degree from Westmont College, located in Santa Barbara, CA. Brogan first started in the industry by installing and maintaining monitoring devices in the field. He has completed over 300 site visits. Currently, Brogan works with customers in the Western Region of the United States to
help solve their challenges by providing remote monitoring systems.

Topic

Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) is an empirical measure of the biological consumption of oxygen in a sample, usually required for regulatory oversight, waste loadings of treatment plants, and for industrial monitoring and billing related to regulatory oversight costs. BODs can be time demanding and frustratingly unpredictable. This training focuses on how to get the most out of your BOD experience and provide some solutions to BOD testing challenges.

"The What, How, and Why of Electronic Reporting Wastewater - Pretreatment"

This presentation focuses on Electronic Reporting as it relates to Industrial Pretreatment Programs. We begin with a look at what electronic reporting really is and the different sides of electronic reporting for Pretreatment programs including data collection from IUs versus data reported to State/EPA regulators.

We discuss how the EPA's Electronic Reporting Rule impacts Pretreatment programs and what they can do to prepare. The EPA's CROMERR standard for electronic reporting systems is explained and a case study for the CROMERR application is presented.

You will become informed about approaches to comply with the rule and leave the presentation with an understanding of what you do and do not need to do.
