The Tri-Counties Technical Certification Committee is a standing committee to administer the Certification Program in accordance with the CWEA regulations and assist the CWEA in the conduct of the Certification Program. The committee keeps members informed on certification procedures and opportunities, and acts as liaison to the State CWEA Committee. The Technical Certification Committee is also responsible for submitting contact hour application packets for Tri-Counties Section events to the State CWEA office, coordinating the approval process, and issuing contact hour certificates.

Education Required For Re-certification The CWEA Board of Directors approved a re-certification policy that requires all certificate holders to submit proof of at least 12 hours of training and/or education every two years. In order to better serve all Tri-Counties Section members, TCP exams have been proctored in both the north and south regions of the section whenever possible. In July 2007, the exam sites will be Lompoc WWTP and the City of Ventura's Sanjon Maintenance Yard. Maps to each exam site will be sent to applicants with their exam packets.

These forms are in PDF format and require Acrobat Reader to convert. The forms may not be submitted on-line yet. You must download them and mail them to the CWEA Main Office in Oakland.

Exam application fees cover the costs of testing materials, application review, exam compilation and mailing, and scoring the exam. If the applicant passes the exam, the first year certificate is also included in the cost. Costs for the exam application are different depending on the grade level to be taken and whether or not the applicant is a member of the State CWEA organization. these fees change frequently and can be viewed at the CWEA Main Web page- click here to go to the Exam Fee page
Certificate renewal fees are due annually in the same month you took the exam for the certificate. Therefore, you may have one certificate with fees due in January and another with fees due in July. Again, fees are based on the grade level of the exam. Updated information on all TCP fees is available from CWEA's website.

Receives limited supervision, and may provide technical direction over other staff and train lower level personnel. Will be able to apply most of the tools used by those in the vocation. Troubleshoots and solves common problems; recognizes and corrects unsafe conditions; has the ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures, laws, and regulations; and completes routine work process documentation.
